MORE ABOUT MY BACKGROUND

Photography

I began taking photographs as a child in the 1980's with a Kodak Ektralite 10.  I have always enjoyed taking photographs and as I got older I moved from the simple Kodak camera into various 35mm cameras.  The last 35mm camera I acquired and still own is the Ricoh XR-10M along with a 50mm lens and a 70mm - 210mm lens.

When digital cameras started to became popular, I put down the 35mm and moved to Canon point and shoot cameras.  For many years the point and shoot cameras did a decent job of capturing moments and creating images.  With the birth of my first daughter, I began to want more out of my photographs than my point and shoot camera was giving me.  I dusted off the old 35mm camera and fell in love again with the photographs I was able to make with it.  Although it was hard to find film in stores, I used the Ricoh 35mm camera for a few months.  Then I decided it was time to get my first DSLR.  I purchased a Canon 60D and began learning as much as I could about digital photography, capturing emotions, stories, and creating beautiful memories. That was just the beginning.

Along with my interest in photography, I also have a strong interest in retouching and post processing of images.  Retouching and post processing goes hand in hand with photography by helping to bring photographs to life.  Retouching allows me to fully complete the photographic vision I have in my mind when I set out to capture an image.

I have had images published on Curbed NY (http://ny.curbed.com), LandscapeOnline.com, and the American Society of Landscape Architects - New York Chapter website (http://www.nyasla.org).

 Landscape Architecture:
